Mbale central market to re-organise vendors.



Ayub Madoi the chairperson of Mbale central market confirmed plans of zoning the vendors in the market. Madoi revealed this yesterday during an exclusive interview with Elgon fm.

Last month, The PAC Reagan Okumu recommended that vendors in the 26B entity have to be re-organjsed (zoned) according to what they deal in for purposes of harnessing tax question.

Madoi explains that the first arrangement was under Markets and Agricultural trade improvement programme (MATIP) plans. He adds that the market executive is engaging vendors on how the zoning process will be done. He adds that there is need to reorganize the vendors in Mbale central market.

Masongo Nicholas a fresh food vendor in Mbale central market supports the idea of zoning adding that it's ask was to have a few vendors mixed up in uncalled for stalls.

Namulondo Tappy the Mbale municipal Town clerk says she will be attending market executive meeting to provide technical advice. she adds that they must hunt for all ways of increasing a taxi base for the facility
