Manafwa District Council Seeks to Sack RDC and other Heads of Security.
Manafwa district council has passed a resolution asking the office of the
president’s appointing authority and minister of internal affairs to sack or
transfer Ahamed Washaki the current RDC of Manafwa district, Denis Gamugisha
the district police commander (DPC) and Emanuel Asimwe the district internal
security officer (DISO) with immediate effect.
While speaking during the council session
Harriet Nandutu the Manafwa district said that the resolution follows the
improper conduct which the three district security heads have exhibited to the
public and other district leaders.
She accused the three of doing less in
restoring security in the district leading to an increased number of cases of
cattle theft, freeing 30 year old man only identified as Job from Bukusu Sub
County who was arrested by residents and handled to Manafwa CPC but later
released after the family bribing police and beating up residents from sub
counties of Bukusu, Sibanga, and Maefe over unknown reasoning leaving many with
lots of injuries
.
John Musila the LCV chairperson of Manafwa
district also accused the RDC of interfering with the district council duties
by asking police to arrest him with councilors who had organized woman’s day
celebration at Buwagogo Sub County on 25/3/2019 claiming that the celebration
was illegal.
Musila adds that with due respect to the council he is going to sign on the resolution minutes and forward them to
concerned high offices such that action can be taken immediately.
Paulo Wakabenga councilor representing
Maefe Sub County and Stephen Walimbwa of Wesswa Sub County said that since the
three are bringing insecurity in the area, they must be removed to bring sanity
in the district.
However, getting a comment from Ahamed
Washaki the RDC was futile after his known phone numbers were off by press
time.
